OCIA: Become A Catholic (2025-2026)

OCIA is the Journey of Faith process for adults who are interested in the Catholic Faith, with or without having been baptized in another church, and for Catholic adults who may have missed receiving a Sacrament in former years.

Are you thinking about becoming a Catholic? This is our invitation to join us! Our Community of Faith welcomes you! Please take the next step by reaching out to us.

Talk to Father Dan or Father Jozef about your interest and they will be delighted and encouraging to you! Diane and Eric Perry also welcome your call. (Please see bulletin of October 5, 2025 for contact info, or please reach out to the parish offices.)

We will support you on your journey of faith in this CCCC community by offering prayerful and informational sessions (with no pressure), as soon as you present yourself to us!

Pet Blessing by Photo (Autumn, 2025)

Bring a picture of your pet(s) or favorite stuffed animal to Mass on October 4th or 5th (2025) and we’ll bless them virtually!

Mass-time Power Outage: Sunday, September 28 (2025)

On Sunday, September 28, 2025 there will be a scheduled power outage in Arcade during the morning hours.

For Parents: Childrens’ religious education has been canceled for Arcade.

For Everyone: We will have our regularly scheduled 9:00 am Sunday Mass on Main Street in Arcade, but the elevator will not be working.

If you need to use the elevator, please consider attending a different Mass, such as St. Mary’s in East Arcade on Saturday evening at 7:00 pm, or another Mass. Please note that there is a wheelchair ramp in East Arcade, but not an elevator.

Marian Bible Study w/ Fr. Jozef (Autumn 2025 — March 2026)

The Better We Know Mary, the Better We Will Know Her Son

Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother is an extraordinary pilgrimage that reveals Mary’s unique role in God’s kingdom and in our lives.

Filmed on location in the Holy Land, Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother will place you in the midst of the powerful drama of her earthly life, taking you through her joys … and her sorrows.

You will learn how she works in our lives today, drawing us ever closer to her divine Son.

Seeing Mary in this way will change you forever.

Mary will become a part of your daily life, and in your daily life, you will become more like Christ.

All our parishioners, friends, and those who are not members of the Catholic Church community are invited to learn about the Bible, led by Fr. Jozef Dudzik.

This special Bible study group will be comprised of a series of 8 sessions, and will take place at 6:30 pm on the following Tuesdays in 2025:

  • October 7, 14, 21, 28 (2025)
  • November 25 (2025)
  • December 2, 9, 16 (2025)

All sessions will be held at St. Mary’s Church Parish Center (417 W. Main Street, Arcade, NY).

Cost of materials is $35.00 (one per family is sufficient), and may be paid at the first session.

UPDATE: Registration ends September 29, 2025 in order to receive materials on time.

UPDATE #2: 

The last 3 sessions will take place as follows:

  • March 3, 2026 – Session 6 (The Wedding at Cana)
  • March 10, 2026 – Session 7 (Mary at the Cross)
  • March 17, 2026 – Session 8 (Mary Crowned with Glory)

At our last session we will also have a special celebration of “St. Patrick and Food in Biblical Times”, which will include many items mentioned in the Bible such as fruits, nuts, vegetables, grains, dairy and more. All sessions will take place at 6:30 pm in St. Mary’s Arcade Parish Center (417 W. Main Street). All members of the Cattaraugus Creek Catholic Community family of parishes are invited to attend.

Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother received a tremendous response, with over 65 registrants! Thank you for your support and interest in learning more about the Bible.

The next Bible Study will take place in the fall (2026). More information to come.

Knights of Columbus (September 2025)

The Knights of Columbus Council #5716 members meet on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7:00 pm at St. Mary’s Church, 417 Main Street in Arcade.

This month’s meeting will be on September 25th, 2025. Please contact Tom Farrell with any questions.

Fr. O’Hara’s 65th Anniversary (2025)

You are invited to a celebration for Fr. Michael O’Hara’s 65th Anniversary as a Priest on September 21, 2025 at St. Philomena’s Church in Franklinville at 11:30 Mass.

A small reception will follow.
