The Permanent Diaconate is a ministry of service, word, and charity in the Catholic Church. Deacons are ordained to assist the bishop and priests in proclaiming the Gospel, preaching, baptizing, witnessing marriages, visiting the sick and imprisoned, and serving those most in need. If you are a man of prayer with a heart for service between the age of 31 and 55 — married or single — who feels called to deepen your commitment to Christ and His Church, consider discerning the call to the diaconate.
Learn more about this vocation by attending an information session being held on Monday, November 10, 2025 at 7 PM at Holy Trinity Church, 1032 Central Ave. Dunkirk, NY 14048.
If you have questions, or would like to learn more about upcoming informational session, or let us know you are coming, please contact Deacon Mark Hooper. (See bulletin of November 9, 2025 for contact info.)
