Catholic Men’s Conference (Tonawanda, NY – 2024)

The 2024 WNY Catholic Men’s Conference will be held on Saturday, March 9 (2024) at Cardinal O’Hara High School, (39 O’Hara Rd, Tonawanda, NY) from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.

This year’s theme is ‘This Is My Beloved Son, Listen To Him.”

There will be talks by Deacon John Gaulin, a nationally renowned speaker, and Father Brian Zielenieski who will encourage and energize us with the mission Christ gave us.

Also presenting is Mark Price as St Peter.

Lunch provided.

Good Friday Collection (2024)

Pope Francis has asked our parish to support the Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land, where they are now less than 2% of the population. Your support is essential to help the Church minister in parishes, provide Catholic schools, and offer religious education.

The Pontifical Good Friday Collection helps to preserve the sacred shrines of Christianity, including in Jerusalem, Nazareth, and Bethlehem. The pandemic hit Christians in the Holy Land particularly hard. Most of them depend on pilgrimages for work. The war made their situation even more dramatic. In these times of crisis, the Pontifical Good Friday Collection is necessary to meet the basic needs of the People of God still living in this land and to maintain a Christian presence where the Church was born.

When you contribute to the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, you join with Catholics around the world in solidarity with the Church in the Holy Land. Please be as generous as you can.

Lenten Series: Life in the Eucharist (2024)

Our Cattaraugus Creek Catholic Community will be coming together during Lent to grow together through the series “Life in the Eucharist”.

Each week is an exciting and unique way to grow our faith.

Epiphany House Blessings pouches are available in the back of the churches (January 6 – 7, 2024) if you’d like to celebrate one of our beautiful traditions of our faith. If you have never done it before, let today be the first time!

About the St. Aloysius Crafters (2024)

Job Well Done St. Aloysius Crafters!

This past year these ladies have been very busy. They have made and donated:

  • 306 quilts
  • 647 teddy bears
  • 11 afghans
  • 33 prayer shawls
  • …and 81 caps.

These were donated to Sisters Hospital, Mercy Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Roswell Park Cancer Center, Bertrand Chaffee Hospital (Emergency room and lab), and Wellnow Urgent Care.

Anyone interested in joining us sewing, stuffing, knitting, or crocheting please contact any member.

Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God (January 1, 2024)

Every year, on January 1st, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God, honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary and her unique role as the Mother of the Son of God during the Christmas season.

Due to January 1, 2024 being a Monday, the Solemnity is not a holy day of obligation this year, but we are inviting everyone to join in our celebration of this feast at Mass.

The Masses for that day will be at:

  • St. Mary’s, Arcade Worship Site — 8:30 A.M.
  • St. Aloysius, Springville — 7:00 P.M.

We hope you will join us in honor and celebration of this important feast of Our Lady.

St. John’s Clothes Closet (January 2024)

St. John’s Clothes Closet is accepting new or slightly used, clean, warm, winter clothing and blankets for adults and children. Housewares, new or slightly used are also appreciated.

Diocese’s Wedding Anniversary Mass (2024)

The Diocese of Buffalo and The Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo wishes to honor couples who will observe their 25th, 50th, 60th and 70th wedding anniversary with a special Mass where couples will renew their marriage vows.

This Mass will take place at St. Joseph Cathedral located at 50 Franklin Street in Buffalo.

Registration is required; please contact our parish secretary to register. The deadline to register is Friday, January 12, 2024.
